Maslows Hierarchy of Needs outlines a spectrum of motivators ranging from biological to social.
At basis we all have physiological needs breathing, food, water, sex, sleep, homeostasis and excretion. Then we have safety needs security of body, employment, resources, morality, family, health and property. Then we have love/belongingness needs for friendship, family and sexual intimacy. Then we have esteem needs self esteem, confidence, achievement, confidence of and by others. Finally, we have self actualization needs morality, creativity, spontaneity, problem solving, lack of prejudice and acceptance of facts. Credit J. Finkelstein, CC BY-SA 3.0 , via Wikimedia Commons

In light of the fact that we were all social distancing during this pandemic, for this discussion I want you to consider the following questions:
In the current and recent past situation, how valid do you think Maslows Hierarchy of Needs is?
Do you agree with the weight and order given to each level, or have you discovered something different now?
Do you think Maslow would maintain his pyramid the way it is, or do you think if he was making it today, he would change it?
