This assessment will test your ability to analyse primary sources. Students
must pick one to three primary sources relating to the topics covered in the
first half of the term. An indicative list of sources will be provided and available
on Brightspace, but students may choose an alternative source(s) from
outside this list in consultation with the module leader. The student should
discuss the source(s) itself, what it tells us, and how important it is in both its
historical context and in terms of the historiography, and why. The analysis
should be linked to one of the below questions: the question will be on the constuction of the suez canal during the 19th centery
