There are numerous examples in which something is discredited through research, yet the continues to persist (Ivermectin and the DARE program are both examples). For this assignment I want you to think about why that might be and how to manage similar situations.

1. In the two articles above, people describe being aware of the research controversies surrounding Facilitated Communication but continue to advocate for it. What are their reasons for doing so according to the articles?
2. Imagine it is ten years from now, and you are working in your preferred career field.
a) Think of one or two places in which research could inform the decisions you make in your career. Assume that research suggests something different than current practices. For example, if you are a dentist you might choose:
