Even slightexersion triggered a severe dyspnea. He had always had a dry, nonproductive cough, but itbecame severe when he laid down; he was forced to sleep on a stack of pillows to keep upright.His character spent most of the last season sitting very uncharacteristic behavior. Underhis makeup, he appeared cyanotic and pale. His normally thin fingers were so swollen he couldnot even play his violin by the final episode. Normally a man who enjoyed good food, these lasefew weeks, his appetite had deteriorated and he barely ate.After collapsing at home, he was admitted to the hospital. Lab results show his RBC count was7 X 106/mm3. WBC count was 6000/mm3. His blood pressure was 110/90. Heart rate was 125beats per minute. His pulse was very weak.
