Hello, I need a well written Discussion Forum post. The texts below include the question that must be answered using the book called Fundamentals of Abnormal Psychology by Comer. I also added an example of what my discussion should look like and how to get full credit points. Thank you!
Using the readings, your impressions, and thoughts, choose one of the following questions to guide your discussion post.
QUESTION: Amongst the general population, it can be said that schizophrenia is one of the most misunderstood of the psychological disorders. Why do you think this is the case? How would you explain schizophrenia to a friend that knows nothing about the disorder?
Give your posts a catchy title to engage the reader. Make sure you refer to information you learned through the readings when writing your post.
Text to get information from: Comer, R. J. & Comer, J.S. (2022). Fundamentals of Abnormal Psychology (10th Ed). NY: Worth.

EXAMPLE DISCUSSION:
Am I… Are we okay?! by NC – Thursday, April 9, 2020, 9:40 PM
Schizophrenia causes the individual to lose touch with reality and everything around them. It also causes their thoughts, emotions, and perceptions to be uncontrolled and their behavior is bizarre (Comer & Comer, 2018). Schizophrenia is also considered to some people as someone who has multiple disorders as one which is why they live painful and intense lives that are out of hand. Schizophrenia used to be termed schizophrenogenic, until it was proved that it was the incorrect term (Comer & Comer 2018). This was only the beginning in incorrectly using schizophrenia as a term for patients. Throughout time after, schizophrenia was also used to describe anyone individual who acted strange or abnormal to the normal person. Schizophrenia also has multiple symptoms which is why many disorders are categorized into schizophrenia for patients. This is one of many reasons as to why many people don’t understand schizophrenia, because it is difficult to understand these symptoms that are all placed into one person. Many people also believe schizophrenia can help people who have it by using it to their advantage such as being incredibly smart and empowered (Comer & Comer, 2018). The reason for this is because they believe they can see life in a different perspective that others cannot.Describing schizophrenia is difficult since people can have different symptoms, effects, and severity of this disorder. I would describe schizophrenia to someone that it is when an individual cannot grasp reality the same as others due to an environmental, biological, genetic, or a physical factor or abuse or all of the above. Schizophrenia is difficult to understand and explain to others because there are so many symptoms that could lead to other types of disorders and there are different type of schizophrenia and a wide variety of symptoms for example the negative and positive symptoms which don’t seem related at first glance . The media, such as movies, also poorly explains schizophrenia because the person is either evil or dangerous or incredibly smart, there is no in-between and we do not get to see how they are as individuals with families, careers, friends etc.
