The purpose of this assignment is to to demonstrate knowledge and skill in planning, implementing, and evaluating a community education presentation (this can be your church, patients within your hospital, a community site; health department, clinic, etc.).. This is an opportunity to apply public health nursing competencies in the delivery of essential public health services and to identify and assist in solving health problems in communities.
Chapters 13, 14 and 15 in Anderson and McFarlane focus on Community Health Programs.
This is a practice experience. You are required to go into your community and find an organization in which you are able to present your educational topic (church, health department, hospital, clinic, daycare, etc.). You are required to have your teaching experience form signed by the provider or manager of the organization in which you will be presenting your teaching topic. You are required to present your education presentation to a community group. You are expected to complete the teaching in Module5/week 5. This is not a proposed project. This is an actual physical presentation with a selected community group. It is a practice experience.
